Pull-Ups and Thongs.

We all have dark secrets

Those skeletons in the closet.

That monster under the bed.

Thought he left you,

Didn’t you,

When you stopped sleeping with a nightlight

And started wearing

‘Big kid undies’.

Well he’s still there.

And more dangerous than ever.

The ones who hurt you the most

Are the ones who love you

And the ones who you don’t know.

Either they think they can’t hurt you

Anymore

Or they

Just

Don’t

Care.

But in a way

Isn’t it the same thing?

Love or loss,

Monsters or skeletons.

Pull-ups or thongs,

It’s all the same in the end.

But that doesn’t really matter now,

Does it?

People just go on living their everyday lives

Pretending

Nothing

Is

Wrong

Or just having it prescribed away by doctors

With pens and Prozac.

White coats and white lies

Pull-ups and thongs.

Nightlights or cave black

Whatever helps us sleep and night.

But they’re still there

The monsters and the skeletons.

Instead of sharp teeth and broken bones

They have sharp lies and broken thoughts.

We might never do anything to them

Except be there

Invading ‘their room’

With ‘their closet’

Take it back

Take back what’s yours

Don’t let them destroy you

Rise above the monsters that lie in wait

Under the bed

Waiting to grip your ankles when you

Get up

In the middle of the night

To use the bathroom

Cause you don’t use pull-ups anymore.

Stop on their hands

Crush their bones

Walk to the bathroom

Nothing is wrong

But everything is better.

They are gone when you go back.

Throw out the Prozac.

Turn off your nightlight.

Buy some new underwear.

Everything is normal now.

Until you open your closet.

Very interesting, I wanted to tell you that this is a great piece of writing. I don't see many comments, but that is understandable because there are are thousands of writings on here. I just comment on the ones I see that have been posted in the last hour or two.
